Cocktail Culture explored
Here I am, doing something that I've done best and enjoyed making a living at for some years. Creating award-winning cocktails and cocktail lists; drinks of distinction and character, using artisan American spirits, fresh produce, and style. Part of a movement, but made distinctly my own. Now studying in the Master Mixology and Master Cicerone programs to further hone my craft, I also do private teaching, consulting, and competitions. I also love visiting distilleries and my fellow mixologists all over California (and beyond) to see what they're offering. Their drinks, their personality, the ambiance and innovation. Another wonderful journey to be on..
Auchentoshan Switch Contest and me at work
When invited to produce a video of myself creating a craft cocktail from scratch lemonade and a companion old-fashioned drink, I jumped at the opportunity. Created for a prestigous International competition, it also gave me the opportunity to showcase an example of what I love to do for restaurants, and my place in the Bay Area cocktail scene. Filmed at Barndiva in Healdsburg, CA
Mixology at Mankas Tapas & Steakhouse with yours truly
I was thrilled to be asked to create 3 of my signature cocktails, seasonal and classic inspired libations at one of my restaurants, Mankas Tapas and Steakhouse. Enjoy these demos on the what and why of what I do. Cheers!
Single-Malt Scotch and Whiskey Extravaganza 2009
As a long time lover of Scotch, it was a pleasure to be invited to the Single-Malt Scotch and Whiskey Extravaganza's San Francisco stop (as part of it's 17 city tour around the US) to film a video of my experiences, tasting both familiar and rare Scotches and whiskeys amongst a learned and knowing crowd. At $140 a ticket, this is an amazing opportunity, held in the fall of each year, to taste up to a 100 of the best, paired with a Single-Malt friendly buffet.
